Glory to heroes

On the other hand 8000 people can potentially do some jobs meaningful to society.

The tech job market is in dark state now, really not much options to choose “meaningful”.

I feel for the those who will hear the bad news, whether meta or other companies, and I hope they will cope and get other roles

There are plenty of jobs outside of software development.

Imagine discussing anything non-work related through company channels. Why would you do that?

I doubt it. Fortunately more and more people are against AI usage for any kind of assets in games and other media.

Why would we need AI artists tho?

why would we need photographers, they just push a button? why would we need digital artists, they just use a computer?

its a new medium, doesnt matter if we like it or not (art also should not care if we like it or not), ai is here to stay. so lets find out if we even can create art with it, or not.

Meanwhile in the EU every price tag for a discounted item needs to also show the lowest price that was available in the last 30 days.

https://europa.eu/youreurope/citizens/consumers/unfair-treat...

I've not seen that here in Denmark? Usually just discounted price+price by weight/item/volume, and 'regular' price and regular price by weight/item/volume

I think the law does not specify how the previously used prices are supposed to be displayed. In Germany grocery stores used to display it in the smallest possible font in a foot note.

They got sued, lost, and now they have to display it more transparently. Absent of EU specifics about how such prices have to be displayed, national courts can make their own rulings based on their national law.

I theory I think dynamic pricing in grocery stores is allowed in EU but not sure if actually used.

Isn't this exactly that but just named incorrectly?

More like "The Affordable Car Is Dead in the US". We still have plenty of these in Europe.

Cool idea, not very cool execution tho.

>So, the lessons for all other countries in the world is pretty clear: grow yourselves some mountains, dig yourselves a big river, and dam, baby, dam !!

And have basically no meaningful industry and small population.
